We hope this will act as a helpful guide when you work through the timings for your special day, which will require adjustment depending on where you are starting off your day, the time you book with the registrar, how you envision the format of your day and if you choose to add on a late license.
Your Goodenough House wedding planner will be able to support and advise on timelines. We will pull all your requirements together in an Event Note that will include not only your onsite timings but full information on all your logistics for the day, alongside your food and beverage selections. This helpful document will also have the most up-to-date financial total for your event, so there is always complete clarity over cost.

Remember to add the in-room PA system to your booking if you wish to play your wedding march or background music through your smart device.
We understand music can be a very personal journey so clients are welcome to source their own DJ, band or entertainment options.
We also have a number of very talented musicians within our residential postgraduate community. Not only are their rates incredibly reasonable but we waive the hire fee of our grand piano (available to Great Hall and Large Common Room clients) if you book one of our students as your pianist. You can hire our musicians for 1-3 hours, perfect for your wedding march or post-ceremony reception. Some couples even like to enjoy music whilst they dine. Simply let us know your musical preferences, from string quartet to harpist, classical to lounge music, and we will find the perfect match for you.
We partner with our local florist but if you prefer to source your own flowers this is also fine. Remember to allow enough time for their set-up which can greatly vary depending on the type of arrangements you order. You will also want confirm if the vases can be taken at the end of evening by your guests or if they require collection by your supplier the following day.
We can provide you with a cake knife for the cake cutting ceremony, then discreetly take the cake away to be sliced backstage after the crucial photo.
Having a toastmaster at a wedding brings a touch of refinement and organisation to the occasion, ensuring it unfolds seamlessly.
